Ok, if you have a open Marriage, how does that work? and if it is your first time? My friend is going to have a open marriage, they have been on a rough road in the marriage, but will open marriage help them? and will it save the Marriage?

The way it works is that both parties are contracting to the legality of marriage (tax benefits, benefits...), but are not contracting to be faithful. They can date other people (there may be some rules, depending on the relationship), but they are still married.

It isn't the best plan and it will cause jealousy and hurt feelings, but it is a good short term solution to see how you feel. My friends have had open relationships (while dating and betrothed), but all of them eventually broke up. I would only think that an open marriage would be worth it if it was for health insurance reasons, otherwise it seems like a really bad idea.

In your friend's case, It will be only end up the marriage! They should stop to doing this open marriage and either choose try to making the marriage work together or just out off this marriage, otherwise, it will cause many problems for their marriage. Open marriage is not healthy for them and is ridiculous.

I do believe in them, as I am in one. I will say though that it is not for everyone, actually very few marriages are strong enough and trusting enough to be able to. An open/swinger marriage only works if the couple (both of them) want it to, completely trust each other, are never jealous, can separate love and sex, love each other implicitly. If anyone is trying to save their marriage, this is not the answer. On the other hand, if you are one of those couples that can handle it, it can be a lot of fun.

My Brother-in-law had an open marriage with his wife for 15 years. They seemed very happy and very much in love. That is until his wife fell in love with one of the other guys she was sleeping with. She left him for the other guy,and divorced him. My brother-in-law was the one who talked her into having an open marriage, and he deeply regretted it.The thing is,when they were married, their life was almost like a fairy tale. I'd never seen 2 people more in love and they never fought, yet she left him anyway. So,if your friend is having marriage troubles now, just imagine what can of worms an open marriage would open up.

Absolutely no way! All it does is make resentment stronger. No matter how open minded you think you are, you will resent another person being with your spouse. People THINK they want an open marriage for themselves so they can mess around but fail to remember its a two way street. Better to work on the problems within the marriage or make a clean break!

If they are having problems in the marriage, an open marriage isn't going to fix those problems and will only serve to worsen them because the "real" problems are not being addressed. This is not what marriage is all about.

I think it would make matters even worse. They are bringing others in the marriage they might as well split up. Someone is going to get jelouse one way or another. I would never want an open marriage I would rather be seperated.

Open marriages, don't help anyone. It just puts more negative days on the agenda. It is also disgracefull. Get a divorce then. Why live in sin, when this marriage has gone wrong. I just hope there are no children. So sad and too bad !

If you have any morals and understand why you got married in the first place open marriage should be out of the question. It will save the marriage if both parties wish to screw around on the other and come home and have dinner and discuss the actions.
