ok I'm really bored so let's do some statistics stuff:

How old were you when you started swimming (splashing around doesn't count ;-) )

and at what age did you first became interested in compeditive swimming?

While we're at this, how many years have you been swimming now

and what are your times for the 50M free, 100M breast, and 50M back?

I was 2 years old when I first took swim lessons. We have a pool so I had private lessons at an early age.
I became competitive at the tender age of 4 because my parents and instructer saw potential. I was really good too until when I was 11 I took the year off and when I returned everyone had gotten faster and I had gained weight.
I am a distance swimmer so Im not too sure what my times are for those events.

I started competing at 5 and retired due to an ongoing knee injury at 20. Now I just write my own work outs at a lap pool (so boring!) My uncle and my older brother were both swimmers and it was just natural that I swam too. I learned to swim when I was two as my mom worked at a pool. I coached privately for two years after I graduated. Why did I swim? Swimming was all I knew and it really sucked sitting all day at a meet when I could be in the pool doing it too. It was the grand ole theory of if you can't beat them, join them.

I'm 24, I'm a great swimmer, I've been swimming since I was 14. I got interested in swimming one time I went to the pool and saw all these hot guys in speedos. I wanted to join in so bad, so I did. I used to be happy just being there surrounded by speedo guys, and did as the coach told and swam all my laps. By the time I turned 15, I realized my body was just as good even better than the guys I was so fixated on. After that, I got really used to people complimenting me on my body, so I'm 24 now, and I can't stop swimming, I learned to love it, and I don't want to give up my body.

I started swimming competitively for my neighborhood pool when I was seven. My Dad signed me up for it.

I liked it a lot the first years because I was fast and had a lot of adreniline, and in 2004 I got sixth place at divisionals out of my age group. My 50 freestyle was very good. My butterfly and IM was awful! I hate butterfly; I can never get the hang of it.

I quit last year (13) because I lost interest and got into other stuff.
