I go through the same thing as u. I so called talk "white" and listen to "white" music. Everyone says that im not ur typical black person cuz i act so "white" but what is "white" anyway?? I have had many black people ask me "why do u act so white?" or "why do u sound so white?" I also live in a white neighbor hood. The white people kinda see me as one of "them" but i dont care. Im my own person and am happy that i act the way i act instead of ghetto and horribly mannered. I have be classified as not "black" enough and i will always have that feeling of not being "white" enough when i am with my white friends. Just dont listen to them Be yourself cuz thats all u can do. I do anyway...and proud when i do it too! <3

For me colour, creed religion just doesn't matter.
I am white my best mate is black.
I have friends who are Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Hindus and Jews.
It doesn't matter at all. It is what we are inside. You should feel comfortable to be with people who look beyond the colour of your skin. If you were kind and honest you would be welcome within my group of friends and I am sure that there are many, many more people like me.
My brother in law is mixed race and he is one of my great mates and a superb husband and father, (check him out of you like at www.daniel-pearce.com)

first you have to remember what you are which is BLACK!! don't change for anyone. in situations like that just be yourself because then if you don't you seem phony and you don't want to seem like that. or the second thing you could do is just move to a neighborhood with less whites and more blacks because it can be uncomfortable living around people that are not like you but if you choose not to do that just be you and remember where you from. that's all

I'm from the city. I used 2 get that from the most ghetto of females. Don't let it phase you. I say that it depends on where your from on how you speak, doesn't matter if your black or not.

When I was growing up, people used to make fun of me because I didn't speak slang and I didn't make friends based on skin color.
Black people called me things like "Cheese eater", and said I was trying to be "White".
I didn't let that stop me from being who I am, and you shouldn't let it stop you.
A lot of those same people are living sad, pathetic, miserable lives and I have gone on to do quite well.
Just be who you are and live your life.

Sounds to me like your just to smart for blacks to consider you black and whites see skin color and feel that you are black. I would say that is going to be the problem with mixed children, no one is going to claim them. Try to make friends with whites they will see your mind eventually and not see your skin color at all and then they'll help you get along with more of them.

Are you talking about your skin color or your behaviors? I've always hated when blacks label articulate and well educated or conservative black people as "uncle tom" even though that term isn't used anymore.
