Only if you are a skilled African Bushman or Australian Aborigine. The rest of us need to make a "bow drill" which spins a pointed stick very fast backwards and forwards in a socket in a flat board. The sawdust soon catches fire. I have seen this done several times by Scouts at exhibitions.

Yes. It is not an easy task, but it can be done. If you make a point on one stick and then twist it really fast between your hands on the other piece of wood, after the friction heats up the wood enough, it will start to smolder. Then you put some dry grass on it and gently blow on it untill there is a flame.

Yes, but it's hard. It's better to use a length of twine and make a fire bow with one of the sitcks, that way you can keep the pressure constant and the heat builds quicker.

I have watched many episodes of survivor and not one of them was able to start a fire without matches or a flint and steel, until this last episode. So although the answer is technically yes. I am not sure that it can be done in practice.
