Classes are ranked by credit (or semester) hours. So if you took 5 three credit classes, it would take you one semester. If you took 4 classes with 4 credits each, it would still take a semester but you'd have 16 credits. Most universities have a minimum amount you must take to be half time or full time. This can range from usually about 6 or 9 credits for half time to 12 to 18 credits for a full time student. This is for a semester. Therefore, if you were a half time student, it would most likely take you a year to get to 15 hours.
