Why is it that our government is taking away the right for a woman to make her own choice? If a woman does not want to have a baby, why should she be forced to? it is her body, not the governments body. men have it easy, stick it in pull it out...It is not murder, but a right of choice if a woman chooses abortion, better that leaving a full term baby in the bushes!!!

Why are morons (mostly conservatives) ALWAYS trying to legislate someone else's morality?! We all know that abortion is a very sensitive subject, but WHO ARE WE to tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body?! I GUARANTEE that it WOULD NOT EVEN BE AN ISSUE, if it was a MAN who was giving birth!! So are women any less human?? Do they deserve to be treated like slaves, or brood mares for the State??! If ANY of my female relatives want to go full term, I will defend her right to do what she wants. If ANY of my female relatives want to terminate a pregnancy, I'm going to defend her right to terminate a pregnancy, and the rest of you can just stay the f*ck out of her life and her way!! Do you self-righteous Christian conservatives think that makes me an accessory to murder?? Then scr*w you sideways, and the horse you rode in on!! Nobody asked you!!!

Before R-v-W women had many issues with even getting their tubes tied when they didn't want to have more chldren (and if they hadn't had *any* children, forget it). My own mother (in the late 60's) had an RH negative incompatiblity (before rogam), and had a stillborn after I was born. She didn't want to go through that again and tried to get her tubes tied. She was told she had to have TWO psychiatrists sign off and say that she would be mentally incompacitated if she had another still born. She just didn't want to go through that anguish again, and refused to have doctors sign to state this. My father -- not having the issue, was able to get a vasectomy, no questions asked, no forms to sign --my mom didn't even have to sign a paper acknowledging the procedure.

Reproductive freedom means that a person's reproductive rights are personal and not anyone else's business. When governments get involved in reproductive rights then they can dictate more than whether or not abortion is illegal -- what about China's one child policy? What about preferences for male children in other countries? Or, closer to home, what about pharmacists denying women birth control prescriptions just because they disagree with birth control (regular pills as well as "morning after" pills?

I'm pro-choice, mostly for the reasons you have already stated but also: If a woman needs to have an abortion for reasons other than that (i.e. There is a problem with ther pregnancy orsomething happens to their body) they should be able to have one.

I *don't* think the government should be getting into something that is moral (i.e. Religiously guided) and then forcing eveyone to comply.

I believe the choice should be for a woman to protect herself from having to make that decision.

Also, last time i checked, abortion was still legal.

You're right, it is your body and your choice. You have the choice to not have sex. You have the choice to take precautions so you don't get pregnant. You probably have other choices as well. You are so eager for everyone to be free to make choices, what choices are you giving that little person inside you. What about that persons choices. Yes, you have the right to make choices concerning your body but you don't have the right to make choices concerning that little baby's body. If you are such a coward that you would leave a tiny, helpless baby in the bushes when there are so many people who would love and Cherish this little baby,........Well, maybe you should be fixed so you don't have to worry about ever making that choice.

If you think it is her body, a simple genetic test of the baby will tell you whether you are correct.

As one who believes in Science, I see no way to claim that the baby is 'her body'. It is a unique and separate human life as any forensic investigator will demonstrate.

It is clearly alive and in a normal stage of a human life. Aborting it clearly kills it.

The RIght to Life is the first Human Right listed in our Declaration of Independence, followed by Liberty then the Pursuit of Happiness. The Declaration goes on to explain that Governments are created to defend those Rights. Therefore, the Government's first function is to defend the Right to Life.

That is why Government gets involved.
