Maybe a white polo or a white dress shirt to church or school. Is that really that bad?

That fashion rule is way outdated. You can wear white if you want, just refrain from wearing white pants (they're a little too summery). As far as tops, I think white tops should always be worn no matter what season it is (they make you look tanner!).
As it comes closer to winter, if you plan on buying a coat or bag, try something in winter white. It's a little different that regular white. It looks totally appropriate for the season though. And if I'm confusing you with the different whites, don't worry, anything that's sold in the winter that's in white is usually winter white.

it means absolutley nothing.. i dont even think that rule exists anymore...i think the fashion police threw that policy out the window a few years ago when people decided that they can wear whatever they want as long as it looks good on THEM.. so let her wear whatever she wants to wear...i always wear white..it looks good...plus shes only in middle school..in most places the dress code is a white collared shirt..and school starts AFTER labor day lol good luck

that rule is so stupid, I think cheerleaders who don't know how to dress are the only ones who follow that rule nowadays.
same for the white shoes thing. don't base yourself on other peoples opinions. If you like the color and you know you look hot in it, then go for it!
