This sounds like a question from your homework. Is this a summary question from the end of the chapter? If so, you need to go back to the reading and find the answer. Whatever we tell you it is, will probably not be the answer they are looking for.

You say "the link" as if there were only one.

But the Christian faith in general, not just any one part of it, was present for and influenced the period from 300AD through 1500AD in many different ways. And without those influences, the world would have become a very diffrent place.

If nothing else, imagine what the world would have been without the Crusades, the Inquisition or the Dark Ages.
