Heroes are people who fight for what they believe in, even when it might not be the most popular thing or even the easiest thing. Heroes are people who stand up for the little guy and fight injustice. They protect and educate the innocent. Heroes don't just complain about problems and criticize failures, they offer suggestions and solutions. Heroes are parents, teachers, public servants, soldiers, and those around us who touch our souls.

My husband. He is truly a hero in my eyes. He has gone through 2 major back surgeries in the past 2 years, but yet has never complained about the pain. He does everything in his power to provide for me and my son (his stepson) from a previous marriage and to make sure that we are happy and well taken care of. He always puts me and my son before himself. He spends more quality time and does more things with my son than my son's own father. I lost my job about 6 mo. ago due to my employer going out of business. I decided to take that opportunity to start my own medical transcription business, something I had been wanting to do for a long time. My husband has been extremely supportive, and helped me alot when I was first setting up the business. To me, he is a hero.

Nelson Mandela is arguably the only truly heroic figure living today. Study his life and character and you will come to understand the real nature and the art of heroism. You will find that a strong and unyielding sense of honor is the crucial component of heroism and of all true heroes.

My 9 yr old Grandson. He fought brain cancer for 3 years until he died 3 days before his 10th birthday. He was so brave, even when he knew he had to have another 18 hour surgery. Every time that I go in for surgery, or am having a bad day, I think of him. My sweet precious Donald. RIP honey ~~

Dagwood Bumstead, from the funny pages. He's aloof, lazy and goofy looking. Yet, have you seen Blondie, his wife? And his gorgeous daughter? He's got it made!
