i have a Dell Dimension 4700 desktop computer

It has a problem where the CPU runs at 100% and the process which is causing the CPU to run full out is 'CCPROXY.exe'.

Also, my broadband connection works sometimes, but then the connection seems to be firewalled or something, because the broadband is still connected, but none of my applications like Internet Explorer or MSN messenger work, as they say there is no internet connection...

Any idea's to either problem? Thanks.. Ash

This is one of MANY processes that are used by Norton Security (AV + Net Security) If its under the appropriate directory you'll have nothing to worry about. If you're experiencing slowdowns you'll want to upgrade your hard drive and/or your RAM. Norton is a resource hog.
This particular process is the email proxy service that is required for your firewall and email scanning to work properly.
ccproxy.exe is a process belonging to Symantec Internet Security Suite. This process allows you to setup basic Internet sharing, which allows you to share your Internet connection across your home or office. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

Hi,
Hope this link helps with part 1 of your question
http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/ccproxy.exe.html

Part 2 sounds as if you have a firewall problem blocking access to applications connecting to the Internet, you need to have a look at the firewall settings to see if Internet explorer etc are blocked from accessing the Internet.
Hope this helps

CCProxy is NOT a virus. It is part of Norton Antivirus. Get another Antivirus program (e.g. Grisoft's AVG) and uninstall Norton. Also Zonealarm (free) is as good as Norton Firewall.

It is your firewall which is not allowing access to IE and MSN. Whether you are using Norton or Windows or another firewall, it needs to be configured to allow those programs access to the Internet. Configuration depends on just which firewall you have.

'CCPROXY.exe' Description:
ccproxy.exe is a process belonging to Symantec Internet Security Suite. This process allows you to setup basic Internet sharing, which allows you to share your Internet connection across your home or office. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

But you can terminate this process by using the following ;

Please open the Task Manager and Processes.(To start Task Manager, press Ctrl+Shift+Escape Or please press Ctrl+Alt+Delete.)

Attempts to end the 'CCPROXY.exe' processes.

This should solve that issue otherwise try this software to check is there any registry issue. This software will help you to find out any of errors from your computer/

ccproxy.exe is a Symantec Internet Security Suite process. It allows for computers to share internet connections though the computer.

If you aren't sharing a connection though your computer directly (if you are using a router), then disable this service.

To help fix the no internet problem, you need to setup the firewall to allow those programs access to the internet.

goto task manager(CTRL+ALT+DEL) and then goto processes and click on CCPROXY.exe and press end process.

you probably got a virus or some sort of spyware.
type in googe the following and download and install:
avg free edition or bitdefender free edition
spybot - search and destroy
spyware blaster

and to be on the safe side use firefox or opera instead of ie becuase there are a lot of bugs and holes in ie.
hope this helps

Sounds like a virus. Buy a copy of ZoneAlram Security Suite and you'll be sorted. If you are short of cash, go here:

http://www.grisoft.com/doc/10/lng/us/tpl/tpl01?prd=sng&E1=AVG+7.1+Professional+Single+Edition&plt=win

and download this freeware stuff, do a scan, and sort out the malicious stuff on your pc.

See if you can stop the ccproxy with the task manager. If you can and your system runs fine, I'd try and find what is causing that app to open up and stop it from doing so.

Try going to task manager and stop the ccproxy app.
Hit CTRL ALT DELETE keys all at once and only once to bring up task manager
