Cochlea: The cochlea is the part of the inner ear that converts mechanical energy (vibrations) into nerve impulses sent to the brain. It is also known as the organ of hearing.
The cochlea is a small conical structure resembling a snail shell. The word "cochlea" is a Latin word derived from the Greek "kokhlos" designating the land snail.
A coiled tube, the cochlea winds two and three quarters turns about a central bony axis, forming the front (the anterior) part of the labyrinth (a maze within the inner ear). The cochlea contains the spiral organ (called the organ of Corti) which is the receptor for hearing.
A cochlear concussion results from a blow to the head not severe enough to cause a fracture. It may however, produce a mild-to-total hearing loss. This is because of tears of the membranous labyrinth which may involve the vestibular structures as well as the cochlea. In such cases, an individual may also experience vertigo.

It's in your ear. The cochlea is a spiral-like thing space inside your ear that makes nerve impulses so that you can hear. Pretty much, in other words, if you have a cochlear concussion, I'm guessing that you wouldn't be able to hear for a bit.
Depending on how bad it is, it can last for any period of time, and if it's bad enough, it might even stick with you for your life.

I've seen the change in the Bible Belt. The Bible is not the reason behind fitting in. Gainesville, Georgia is nic-named "little Mexico".
