If you use your phone very little prepaid is the way to go. I was paying like $49.95 a month for unlimited use. But I don't use it much so I switched to Cingular prepaid. I pay $25 every 3 months. A whole lot cheaper. If you renew before the expiration date the minutes carry over to the next month with Cingular prepaid. (not a sales pitch) just a satisfied customer.

It depends on how much you use a pre-paid cell. If only a little bit, (2-3 hours per month) it makes sense.

If not, they aren't good for you.

I have Virgin Mobil. It's the best pre-paid. I don;t talk a lot on my cell, usually my calls only last a few minutes so it makes sense for me. If the phone is for a kid/teen, someone who doesn't use it to gab a lot, or for emergency purposes only, I highly recommend it. Otherwise go regular.

I believe they are a rip off simply because your minutes if you do not use them right away do not roll over so say if you have 50 dollars left of minutes you loose all of it.. like my daughter just did! And that was through telus mobilty...
