Depression affects people in different ways. Not all anti-depressants make people feel suicidal. Your mom is probably worried that the side effects some of these drugs have will make you feel that way, but she should allow you the opportunity to go see a specialist so you can talk to them about the way you feel. Medicines like Zoloft, Paxil, Wellbutrin when given and monitored by Dr can help alleviate some of these feelings you mentioned. Depression is controllable. I hope your mother allows you to seek help. Speak to someone at school or at church. You do not have to live like that. Good luck

Talk with a counselor. your doctor or school can recommend one. I'm guessing your in your teen years. Most teens go through similar feelings. A counselor can help you understand whats going on. Some people have physical illnesses that require medicine but for most people the drugs are just a band-aid. Understanding your feeling and finding out how to control fears and stress will cure the problem. Don't ever lose hope.
If there is a large church in your area they most likely have someone who counsels for free.

GO SEE SOMEONE NOW! Feelings of death are not natural. Depression is often a chemical imbalance in your brain. You have no control over it. Depending on your age, and where you live you do not need you mothers permission. Educate yourself and see you doctor for advice. In the meantime, start exercising. The seratonin released when you exercise often helps with depression symptoms. Good luck.

maybe your mom actually cares about you and doesn't want you to die.get into a church crowd and find a pastor or a friend and talk this out.determine what is causing this and change some things in your life that will make you happy.i know god doesn't but these thoughts in your head and you should be soaring with the eagles instead of being a grounded duck.good luck and keep looking for the positives in life

Does you mom let you see a mental health professional to talk? Find some activities you are pasionate about, takes your mind off what depresses you. Anti depressants are not a miracle cure, but may help, under doctor supervision.

I saw your question the other night and wanted to answer. Thanks for re-posting it. I suffered from bipolar (a little bit different from depression) but I didn't want to take any synthetic meds...they really are bad, IMHO. May I recommend a program that has really helped me? It's called NEW-START, an acronym for:
N-nutrition (esp. antioxidants & omega 3's)
E-exercise
W-water (lots of it)
S-sunlight (helps process vit.D)
T-trust in God (He really does care for u)
A-air (fresh)
R-rest (adequite amounts b4 midnight)
T-temprance (no alchohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, etc.)
Anyways, worked real well for me. I'm now pretty stable, considering.^^ Please check out this link:

Depression is anger turned inside out. Get help, start with Mom, let her know she is in denial and must help you. If she refuses, start with a teacher at school. You'll definitely get the help you need.
