the carpet gets wet on the drivers side of my 1991 caprice classic after i drive it for a while. when i stand next to my car with the motor running i can fill very hot heat coming from underneath,hotter than normal.

Could be a few things. Is it raining or are you parking next to sprinklers while the vents are open? Yes, water can run to the left side vent of the car. Is your air on? You may have a clogged drain on the air conditioning evaporator.

You could have holes caused by rust-through of the floor pan or fire wall. Heat from under the car is coming from the catalytic converter. Extra heat might mean more pollutants being created by the engine not running properly.

Could be a few things... the other answers give you some ideas, but i would have a pro check it out before spending too much money.

your heater core is gone. it is a costly job
