This is the outcome expected when all foreign troops eventually leave Afghanistan. What excuse do we give for killing them by the thousand?

Afghanistan was attacked to eliminate Al Qaeda's formal terrorist training college there. It had churned out 20,000 graduates during the 1990s and those grads went out to become sleepers. The Taliban chose to defend Osama bin Laden - which made it a more wide-spread operation.

We have no military obligation to prevent the Taliban from regaining power if they are not a threat to the US. However, under the Geneva Conventions, we are obligated to support that country's new government with military force until that government can handle its defense and internal security needs. So, for now, we must fight the Taliban. If they achieve power later, after we leave, it's not our responsibility.

Laura Bush went to Afghanistan for the opening of the new University and free (un-oppressed) radio station. She shares the dream that education can revise Afghan culture to be more peaceful so that the ideas of the Taliban cannot regain strength. I pray that goal is reached.

They will "never" be rulers of Afghanistan. Troops of the free world will never allow this to happen.
God, to think I served my time in the armed forces for people like you!!!!
