1.(2a+b)(3a+2b)
=2a(3a+2b)+b(3a+2b)....distributive law
=6a^2+4ab+3ab+2b^2
=6a^2+7ab+2b^2

2.(x-2y)[(x-4y)(x+y)]
=(x-2y)[x(x+y)-4y(x+y)]
=x-2y(x^2+xy-4xy-4y^2)
=(x-2y)(x^2-3xy-4y^2)
=x(x^2-3xy-4y^2)-2y(x^2-3xy-4y^2)
=x^3-3x^2y-4xy^2-2x^2y+6xy^2+8y^3
=x^3-5x^2y+2xy^2+8y^3

FOIL (first outer inner last)

1. 6a^2 + 7ab + 2b^2

2. Do it in parts.

3x^2 -10xy + 8y^2(x + y)
3x^3 - 10x^2y + 8xy^2 + 3x^2y - 10xy^2 - 8y^3
3x^3 - 7x^2y - 2xy^2 - 8y^3
