Download the driver from HP, and usually the installer takes care of everything, but you can go to Applications > Utilities > Printer Setup Utility, and use that to help you in your quest, but the main thing is that you have the right driver.

Start with getting the mac driver from HP's site. The installer should walk you right through it. www.hp.com

either go to start add printer and follow the wizard or go to control panel use prihter and follow directions
