unfortunitly that has happened to me. a level of 7000 means she is not very far into her pregnancy, shes still in the first trimester when the risk of miscarriage is highest. most of the time heavy bleeding while your pregnant is a sign of miscarriage especially if it is heavy and clotty but not being dialated is a good sign. she might of twisted and turned the wrong way and cause a tear in the uterine lining thus causeing the bleeding but her levels dropping down and the bleeding together sugest miscariage im so sorry. however i have heard of bleeding and fall in hgc levels within a normal pregnancy, usially with twins. unfortunity theres not much to do but wait and hope, if her levels are still dropping by the time she is rechecked and have not doubled like they are suppose to then im affraid miscariage is usially immanant. ut i wish you the best of luck and hope all goes well. when i had the heavy bleeding and drop in my numbers it did end in miscariage, but thats not always the case

Sorry, this doesn't sound good. This happened to a friend, exactly the same way, she started bleeding and then two days later her levels had dropped, and a couple of days after that her miscarriage became obvious. Did they do an ultrasound at the hospital? Ask for one so they can see if there is a heartbeat. I don't want to sound all gloom though, my other friend started bleeding and just assumed that she had lost her baby, she never went and got her levels checked though, but she continued to have bleeding after that, almost like regular periods. Then one day her boyfriend said it felt like there was something in her belly. She went to the Dr. and the baby was still in there, and still okay, she went on to deliver a healthy baby. I wish the best for your daughter and you.

when your levels drop it does not look good. Your levels are the one sure thing that would show that the pregnancy is going well. In my opinion I would not expect alot. Sorry. But stress as much as possible because that will not help. Remember a miscarriage is mostly not caused by the mom. It happens because its the natural way for your body to get ride of a baby that is not perfect, of would not live a good life.

Seriously, I did. I was about 20 weeks and got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and discovered that I was bleeding like crazy. I couldn't stop screaming, and when I stopped screaming, I couldn't stop crying. To make a long long long story short, I did have all sorts of complications throughout, but I have a lovely 1 year old boy to show for it. He was not even premature, rather, he was 8 days late, but perfect.

I wish your daughter the same luck.

A pediatrician would be able to give your daughter medications that will bring her levels back up without damaging the fetus.
