Jewellery Museum, Jewellery District. Black Country Museum, Dudley, Motorcycle Museum, near NEC. It's all about the industrial past when Britain was the "workshop of the world" and Birmingham and the Black Country were the metal-bashing centre. Time was when any nut, bolt, screw, washer, tube, machine tool or car part in, for example, South America, Africa or Asia would have been made there.
The Black Country is so called because it used to be completely covered in black soot from the furnaces.
