im from California where "hella" is a popular phrase......Ella reminds me too much of Hella. But if you like that name then that's all that matters. It's a gift each parent gets to give to their children. you shouldn't listen to online people who say "name her this" or "you cant name your child that" they really have no say in the matter, It's your baby and when you find the right name you will know it because it will just sound so right.....I'm naming my baby Lily Renee ...oh ya and congrats!

I named my daughter Ella Grace so I am bias to that name. I think it is beautiful but I really like old traditional names like that.

Sounds too much like Ellie Mae from the Clampetts on Beverly Hillbillies.
My daughter has a flowery name. Not *my* choice; it was her late father's. She's pregnant and if it's a girl, wants to give her daughter a flowery first *and* middle name.
I told her to keep me out of it as knowing me and my nicknames, I'd probably call the two of them "my favorite flower garden".
Sometimes you *can* overdo it...
