hahah! nobody ever picks France.
At least that's a quote from a Simpsons episode. I've found it to be true.

It's not true that nobody picks France, I do. I visited both France and Italy in May, and I LOVE France. The scenery, the roads, the food, the history is just amazing. Italy has good food, nice poeple, nice museums, but it is dirty. I saw people in Venice that throw empty coke bottles from their window in the water. In Milan i saw young guys spraying grafitti on walls and Police past them. These things stay in a tourists mind, and are hard to erase

I loved Italy! people are wonderful climate is great, architecturally beautiful! when I was in France and asked for help finding places I either got no help at all or was directed in a completely wrong direction! Take the French out of France and I would stay there!

Italy ~ But you have to get out of the bigger cities. The countrysides are beautiful. The AF coast is breath taking. Grab a hotel around Naples ...Best Western is awesome! Built right into the side of a cliff. Make sure to visit Capri too!

I lived in France very longtime and I like France very very very much ! But of course, it depends on you !
Maybe Italians are sometimes a little bit more friendly if you don't speak their language. But I would visit BOTH ! And inform you very well before, learn some words of french and italian and you will enjoy it !!!
