Does this file format have the potential of being malicious?

It's an ASCII text file.

I believe it information file in ascii code. I don't think it malicious. You could try scan files that are .nfo to see if they are potential viruses, trojans or other malicious code.

Microsoft Windows System Information also uses this extension.

usually no harm from these, they are information files about the app or program.

yes it can be malishious all file have that potional
