Yes. Low-grade civil war between the Sunni Muslims and Shite Muslims. The Kurds in the north are the only sane, relatively peaceful people in the whole country. Iraq could easily break up into three countries or merge with Iran, after which a genocidal war against the Sunnis and Kurds would result.

No, Iraq is not falling apart, the people of Iraq are closely knit together in clans, tribes, religious basis and relations that it can never fall apart, it is like a cousin living in Baghdad while another living in Basra, so both would not approve of going apart.

Iraq has been a disaster area for 50 years..
It seems to wax and wane..
If the self-serving liberal Dem's will allow it, we will be able to make Iraq a stable Mid East democracy...
If the liberal Dem's succeed in destroying US efforts to stabilize Iraq, it will turn into another Islamofaschist anti-western regime supporting terrorism against the west...
