I installed a pop-up blocker but I am getting pop-ups from one source now - OuterInfo. Does anyone know how I can stop this? I even get adult sites popping up and I don't like my son seeing these. Who is OuterInfo and how can I stop this? This is the only company/group/organization that I get pop-ups from. They show up every 30 seconds during certain hours of the day. Late at night it's about every 5 minutes. I'm getting pissed off! Help me please!

I had a past job dealing with spyware. From what it sounds like, you have programs that are constantly spamming you with popups and using up your resources.

You should get professional advice for free. All you have to do is download Hijackthis, run it (takes 30 seconds), and post the log that it gives you. Then a group of computer nerds take a look at it and give you easy advice on how to fix everything.

It might take them a day or two to reply, but it's definitely worth it since they can see and fix every problem. The site is www.geekstogo.com visit this thread for directions on posting a topic for help (skip to step 5 and just download hijackthis) http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/You_Must_Read_This_Before_Posting_A_Hijackthis_Log-t2852.html

You could download a temporary program like a popup blocker, but that would only stop the popups. The spyware programs would still be running in the background wasting up your resources. You can email me at true_skillzz@yahoo.com if you need any additional help.

Install a pop up blocker. Most internet browsers have it. Try and download firefox or install yahoo toolbar. It has pop up blocker, spyware checker and other goodies.

I had this pain in my behind as well with adult ads in my yahoo mail page. (I can thank my son and his friends for that I am sure)Someone suggested(as they have here) that I get Firefox--well they said Mozilla which is also Firefox. I have not had a single popup since. Plus when I go back to Internet Explorer I have none there either and it 's FREE!!!
