Do read it! It will change your life for good (and better)! After I read " The Alchemist" I felt as if somebody has put into words all my inner feelings, fears, desires, hopes, contradictions and aspirations. Then I kept reading more and more Paulo Coelho and I believe his books have helped me grow as a person. True, his message is simple and it repeats and recurs in every novel, but it seems that we need to read it so often in order to apply it in our own lives. The Alchemist is a book about the search of what we want and the difficult way to get it. i highly recommend that you read it!
P.S> I wish you to find and follow your personal legend.

Yes, you should read it but only if you are ready to see the parts of great books copied in it (Markes, Borges, Camus, ...), used but not transformed...I really do not like it, it seams too superficial for me and since we already, more or less, live in a world equally superficial, I do not need another thing to remind me. Alchemist does in a great way...

YES!!!!
I was very sceptical about reading this book as so many of my friends had said you must read it, I eventually bowed down to pressure and read it in one day!!!!!
The message of the book is so simple yet profound and I highly recommend it

Read it now........read it again in a few years....and again and again and again.

Read this book for reasons beyond just "liking to read".

"LIFE IS IN THE JOURNEY, NOT THE DESTINATION".
