I have noticed this with some of the answers. Just because your questions are in English a lot of people assume you're from the USA. They tend to forget about the UK and that there is a lot of English spoken else where. To make a long story short.... Many people just don't stop to think.

What??? Not everyone on the internet is American? People in other countries have access to the internet? Wow.

I think Americans tend to speak before they think. They sometimes don't realize that there are other people outside of the US.

it truly is extremely straightforward: it is the yank area of YA Politics. "it truly would not harm to ascertain." hiya, thanks for the sarcasm there. possibly you may also make an attempt to ascertain to verify that you're contained in the perfect area. Your question must be in Whining & Crying, no longer Politics. "refusal to ascertain information and are basically executed to point score, which i have said takes position plenty the following. There has a tendency to be aspect scoring over one yet another and refusal to well known proper and incorrect on each part. maximum solutions (and questions) are not from now on significant and are pointacoring workouts" it is very authentic. And that's amazingly tiresome.

nice generalization! And assumption I might add. You wouldnt happen to be American would you. Americans are (really bad people, ALL of them especially their Dictator Bush) insane!

I'm Texan myself.

You're alright in my books, as long as ur not all american.

Guess cause a site like YAHOO! just sounds so Country?

I do not assume that.

Often I see words that are spelled the British way, and I figure they may be from the UK or Down Under, or Canuck-Land.

Some cannot spell at all and I figure they are from New York or California.

Not everybody, just some people.
For instance, I'm Romanian.
But I like to write in English.
On the other hand if i write in Romanian, some people couldn't understand me.
Now you under sand why other people do the same?

Everybody doesn't. Especially when the person asking helps by saying "I'm in England..." I often will answer a question about vehicle registration by saying "it will depend on what state OR COUNTRY you are in..."

So, don't make sweeping generalizations based on your assumptions.

I can only speak for myself. The only time I usually make that assumption is as it relates to legal questions, when I recognize terminology that seems to indicate the US legal system. But for general questions, I try to be conscious of the global nature of things.

So, I ask you to forgive (for me) my uses of "state" as a shorthand for "state / province / territory / region / country". And I promise to be more conscious of my words in the future.
