I'm trying for either Public Health or English. My parents wouldn't let me do English unless I get into Ivy League or Oxford or something. Public Health has a lot of good public options too. Any advice would be great!

The GRE is similar to the SAT in that the best score is 1600. There is also a writing section though (score of1-6) and you can read all about it on the website below. As for what score to get, that is not the only factor. Find REALLY good letters of recommendation, show your extra activities (such as volunteer work), if you have been a member of any honor groups, make that prominant, and do very well on your essays.
Good luck with graduate school.

Your GPA is decent (congratulations) but for the absolute top schools, you are competing with people with 3.8, 3.9, etc.

You would probably need GRE scores on both sections in the 700's to even start to be competitive. I've found in helping people get into competitive schools that there are alot of other factors as well that will determine how competitive you can be.

The best plan is to plan well in advance, so that you can accomplish everything you need. If you are applying for Fall 07 admissions, your time is a bit short. Check out the help that is available to you.
