What part of the movie is this? The begining middle or end?
I have only seen a little bit of the movie and dont remember this part but i thought that when they switched the mean brother for the one in the mask they killed the mean one cuz he was caught in a fire or something.

P.S. Is this a true story?

The movie is based on a true story.

No, when they first free's the good son they replaced him with a corpse and they burned him in the jail so the guards wouldn't be able to check any id.

The bad brother was removed in the end by his own first guardsmen because the bad brother killed the true dad and the first guardsman only espired to be like the true dad of the two brothers so he helped switch the brothers for real in the end.

Without typing for ever that is my best explaination of the movie

This scene is after they have rescued thekings brother from the tower, they slipped the mask back on him, just to help him escape from the palace. it is near the end, because the king is on to them, and has sent his soldiers. They did not kill the king, they lock him in the tower later in the movie. No fire involved. No it's a story, by hmmmm Sr. Aurthur Connel Doyle perhaps? Can't Remmember, sorry.

The mean brother was killed in the end by the good brother, philip. Where he takes the robes of his king brother and leads france into a great time of peace and happiness. in the very end, they attend his funeral and move on.
I think the story is losely based on truth, usually in movies they add or reduce things to make them more dramatic. but then again, I'm not a history major.
