Considering that the cost of a new house will cost as much as the 10 year one, the 10 year one might need some TLC done to it. It all depends on the location of the house and the price of it. If you are good at D.I.Y. repair work, I would definitely buy the older home.

Dan had a sturdy theory. construct a deck over it. even possibly a storage shed over it. Then use the empty pool area for further storage. swimming pools floating because of rain is a stretch; If this kind of condition did arise; to illustrate a huge flood, then the pool popping out of the floor might want to be the least of your moms and dads' hassle. ........... I actually were in huge floods alongside the Brazos river in Texas. ------ swimming pools and septic tanks - comprehensive or no longer - can glide up out of the floor - and homes might want to be delapidated or perhaps wash down flow. - in case your moms and dads stay in a flood straightforward, then they could evaluate that concern , ............ in case your moms and dads do no longer stay in a flood straightforward, then the idea of an empty pool floating out of the floor is organic hogwash. edit: Stofu has a sturdy aspect - in case you stay the position there's a deep freeze line you may want to get some cracks contained in the perimeters of the pool. yet maximum persons drain their swimming pools before iciness besides - with the intention to stay away from not straightforward freezes on the authentic part of their swimming pools and coming up significant harm to the encompassing authentic fringe of the pool. i assume anti-freeze in a pool full of water may help - yet that could be very severe priced and extremely messy later.

Definitely go with new one. You didn't say what kind of pool. If it is inground (gunite, fiberglass, vinyl) Get ready for big headaches with a pool. It's a lot of maintenance, a lot of money on chemicals, a lot of money on electricity. If it is gunite (concrete) it probably needs to be reserfaced. Tile falls off. Big headache.
Kids promise to help with the vacuuming and brushing.....yeah right.
