That I had to live with my mother.

Buying a necklace from a candy machine ( I was only a child and no money, except some coins) and giving it to my mom for her either birthday or mothers day can't remember which one it was. She looked at it and said "I can't where this, its from a gumball machine" a huge piece of my heart died that day. That one moment in life I think is the reason I hate getting gifts myself and feel I must give good gifts to keep people happy. I love my mom so very much and I understand that she didn't realize what she said. She did the best she could with what she knew how to do raising children & coming from a broken home.

I swore to LOVE every gift my child gives me and I do! I BROKE the chain and will keep that little incident in the back of my mind so I never make anyone feel like I did that day... way back when...

My dad being a raging alcoholic, and my sister and I not being able to invite friends over because he'd embarrass us. Around the age of 8 I finally realized there was something seriously wrong with my dad and I'd never have a normal relationship with him. That was my biggest disappointment.

My worst disappointment would have to be when I was 8 yearsold when my grandpa was in the hospital he didn't want me to know that he had a chance of dieing and it was a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving he told me he wouldn't leave me and that he would be home for Thanksgiving that night he died and it tore me apart I really though he would be with us forever I really thought he was going to be with us for Thanksgiving I couldn't go to school for a few weeks I was in shock that he was gone

my dad, who is a minister, didn't show up for my baptism. i was an unusually and sincerely devout child and i had been going to classes and studying and praying for months in preparation. he called that morning from a trip to visit his other (adult) children from a previous marriage to say that he couldn't make it because his other children wanted more time to vent at him for leaving his former wife and marrying my mother. it was confusing. my mother made me go thru with the baptism and i remember feeling empty and embarassed by having to explain why my father was not coming.
