yeppers! for a first timer you may get worried but it is normal! If you bleed in conjunction with cramps you should go to the ER

yes I get period like cramps and I've gotten them pretty much on a regular basis. This is normal. If they are so bad that you double over in pain then it is no longer normal and you need to see a doctor. I recommend the book "What to Expect When Your Expecting" it's very good for questions like this

Let me STRONGLY Suggest.
Do not ask other people about pregnancy they do not know what is normal and what isn't. Not all pregnancies are the same.
Every person is different what maybe normal for one person may not be normal for the other. Call you doctor a.s.a.p.
this way you are always SURE you are doing the best for your baby and yourself.
Congratulations!!!!

I've had 3 children and had period cramps all through each pregnancy. And all 3 were healthy babies.
