Depends, try going to webmd.com and see if they can help you there.
There are a lot of reasons, if you only had spotting instead of your actual period, you could be pregnant. It could be something a little more serious such as cancer or an STD.
It comes down to this
How long has it been going on
Do you have any allergies
What type of food have you ingested
Any other things you've noticed that are a bit off?

TAKE A PREGNANCY TEST, sounds like the same symptoms I went through when I was pregnant with my youngest. Yes you can have a period for a brief time when pregnant. If the test comes out negitive you will know that there is something else wrong with you.

You need to go to a clinic and get a pregnancy test done. It could be hormonal if you are not pregnant but you need to rule that out first. Some women can still have periods at the beginning of their pregnancies.

Any condition that lasts more than 7 days should be evaluated by a doctor. If it goes away before then, don't worry.
