My sister in law made a dry erase board out of a large piece of plexiglass. The problem is that dry erase markers stick like permanent markers and will only come off with alcohol or nail polish remover, which is ruining the board. Does anyone have any ideas on a cleaner or a different marker? Thanks for the help!

Are you using high-quality markers, like Expo brand? If not, try them. Sometimes the cheaper brands are a real pain to clean.

Another thing you should definitely try is wet-erase markers, made for overhead projectors. The ink should come off nicely with just a little water, and you can use whiteboard cleaner once in a while to take care of any residue. If those markers don't work, then the board probably just isn't smooth enough to make a good non-porous surface.
Here's what they look like, if you're not sure:

You must use "whiteboard markers" ONLY (water based and water soluble).
It will be erasable with a dry cloth
Alcohol destroys plexi.
