can a groundhog climb trees or do they spend all of their time on the ground?

they spend their time on and underground. they do not climb trees. porcupines do, though.

Have seen even baby groundhogs up in bushes sunning and my dogs have chased several up trees to prevent capture.

they can't climb trees, they dig holes for thier burrows, that is thier escape from preditors so there is no need for them to climb trees
