When I am asking a serious question, why do people waste my time and theirs by putting idiotic answers such as
WOW
or
Cool
or
Have a nice day
These answers have nothing to do with the question I asked. Why waste everyone's time????? I don't get it. Do you earn extra points by putting the "stupidist answer"?

It's a surefire way to get points, even if it's only 3. They have nothing better to do than to obsess over how many Yahoo Answers points they have. That's not saying everyone with a lot of points have no lives; most of them have answered questions with good, useful information. But answering enough questions with bull**** answers will make up for the fact they never get chosen as best answer. And I really hope they don't recognize them and encourage stupid behavior for having the "stupidest answer." If anything they should take points away from them.

I know where your coming from I believe some just want the 2 points than to take the time to seriously give a good answer..They don't won't to take the time to write a short paragraph.I have seen stupid question get the best answers..But I totally agree with you ..

They simply have no intelligence or wisdom to answer any serious questions. Immaturity plays a big part..they think they are being funny but in reality it's very annoying and shows their ignorance. Hope you have better luck with future questions being answered seriously!

Well they're getting 2 points wether they are serious or not , so it doesnt matter 2 them , serious answers waste more time than stupid answers , its faster to type " wow " instead of some long paragraph

for the easy 2 points. some people are in it just for the points. i know, i get aggravated too. i ask to get an answer, not a rude, or mean or just a one word phrase.

they are only doing it for the two points. that is why you have the flag button. if you see one that has nothing to do with the answer, click it and you're good to go.

I don't know, but i think its because they either don't care, are just rude in general, or are just trying to be annoying.
