Could be sea glass.

Broken pieces of bottles, jars, etc that people leave as trash on the beach get washed back out to sea. Then they're tumbled around just like rocks for a while. Eventually they get washed back up on land all rounded and polished like rocks.

Chances are that you have found glass so do not get excited precious stones can not be found with such ease.

It sounds like a craft pebble. They sell them in bags in craft stores.

it's probably one of those glass things people put in fish tanks, they look kinda flat and rounded.
