Is "BIG" coming back in?

I was talking to my work colleuge the today about how in the tudar times, "big" or fatter people were thorght of as more attractive (e.g.henry 8th). Then, looks became slightly more stricter,until twiggy became known, and then most girls wanted to be skinny.

But it was brought to my attention that slowly but surely the number of bigger celebritys are increasing on our screens (basement jaxx girl etc). And i dont know if you watched that program the other night about making life bigger for really big people, like making bigger toilets etc.

So im confused- what kinda girls are the lads after these days?

Well I recently took my wife to the Opera and nobody would leave until she sang....
When we were married and had our first dance it was like trying to move a wardrobe...
My wife asked me for a waterbed and I told her they hadn't made a blanket big enough to cover the sea...
My wife sat down in the road once and people thought it was a new roundabout...
Obesity is NOT attractive unless of course you are yourself obese, try to imagine a world without McDonalds and obesity would not be an issue.
Many cultures have have adopted and embraced the American way of life so now obesity is commonplace, giving rise to the increase in Fat celebrities.
Is America trying to conquer the world by making everyone so fat that resistance is pointless?...........They don't need to invade Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan, they should have just opened several McDonald franchises over there.
Oh and Henry VIII was thought of as attractive because of his wealth and status, and the fact that he could keep a three course meal warm under his folds of fat

I don't know.
All I can say with any honesty is that I have never been thin. Been a buxom lass all my adult life and if I have wanted a boyfriend I have had one. I can only presume then that I am to some men's taste.
. If only slender girls got a look in then I would not have had boyfriends at all! I am an old crumbly now but I still get attention and it surprises me too as I would have thought that I am totally unfashionable figure/looks wise!

I imagine then that there are always going to be blokes who like more slender and those who like erm a bit more.

In terms of fashion there is more choice I think, but skinny will always be key to the fashion industry as skinny resembles the coat hanger more etc.

The only reason big was attractive in Henry VIIIs time (and history generally) was that it reflected health. At a time when many people literally starved, being large meant that you had access to food and that, if female, you would make fine breeding stock! Nowadays we know it is healthier to be slimmer (not skinny like models).

My advice to you is not to be too concernd with how other people look and how you are perceived. The main thing is that YOU like the way you look. No-one can keep with with the way fashion or trend is going so dont even bother. My only concern is for lil' kids who keep with the trends and hence develop eating disorders and the like. DONT be like that!

i think curves are important and that is the one thing most celebs and stars etc lack! Myself as a 16-18 all my life absolutely hate my body and feel massive and hideous all the time...however according to all my friends and family I'm apparently very attractive and sexy looking??????? wtf? I'm always being chatted up by d7blokes etc but cant see why so maybe in theory bigger is better? but whatever, the person inside is all that matters. xxxx

Hahahaha. Don't worry, the lads are still after the slim girls.

We prefer skinny, because...
skinny = works hard to stay skinny.
fat = lazy, eats all the time.

P.S.-You think big is coming back in just because our society is lazy, and likes to eat alot. So therefore, we have more lazy fat people.

i wouldnt say it was making a comeback in beauty terms, models/actresses ect are in generall thinner than at any other time, i think its just that obesity in the general population is on the rise so things reflect this, eg toilet manufactureres lol

personally i love the athletic look on a girl as long as they aren't too skinny i hate when im with a girl who is constantly paranoid about bein overweight when there is nothing to them
