There is a way to check whether mirrors are genuine one way mirrors or possibly two way mirrors...meaning like those that people can see you from the other side, but you don't know it.
Put your fingernail against the mirror glass...if there is a space between your nail and the mirror..it is a two way mirror, if there is direct contact between your fingernail and the mirror surface, it is a genuine one way mirror.Think about it ! Check it out !

I've heard that... but never gotten an opportunity to see a two-way mirror to prove it. My nail is flat against and has direct contact on all mirrors I've come across. *shrugs*

Interesting but how would we use this in everyday life. It is interesting piece of info to know. Especially if your interrogration room.
