It would help to clear out your temp files.
In your Explorer, Choose "Tools" on the top tool bar.
Choose "Internet Options".
In the middle section called "Temporary Internet files", choose "Settings...".
In the "Settings" window that pops up, chose the middle button "View Files..."
A window will open up showing all your temp files.
Go to "Edit" and click on "Select All".
Once all the temp files (cookies, etc.) are highlighted, go to "File" and select "Delete". Confirm that you want to delete the files.
(You'll probably hear your computer rev up a bit if you don't do this regularly.)
Close this window when it is empty.
Click "Okay" at the bottom of the settings window.
You should be back on the Internet Options" window.
Select the "Delete Files" button, put a check mark in the "Delete all offline content?" box and click "Okay".
Almost done!
Under "History" click on "Clear History". Confirm the command.
BTW, unless you need to know what you clicked on yesterday and before, I suggest leaving your "days to keep pages in history" to "0". Save the memory space.
Click Okay.
You may want to close and reopen Explorer but you should be running faster.
Do this cleaning on a regular basis and you'll be more "regular" and less "constipated" in your online speed.

It could be a number of things. Windows is actually a tough operating system to keep up with if you want to keep it at 100% efficiency.
#1. Remove ALL programs that you don't use and know you never will again.
#2. Delete large files that you don't need. Free up space on that hard drive.
#3. Defrag your drive. Start>programs>accessories>system tools>defragment drive. This organizes all of your files.
#4. Check your drive for errors. Go to my computer and right click on your C drive. Then click on "check for errors." It'll probably ask you to restart. Keep in mind this can take several hours if you've never done it before.
#5. Ask someone you know who is VERY computer literate to run msconfig for you. They know what it means, and it can make a huge change in performance.
#6. Spyware slows down PC's. Download Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE if you don't have anti-spyware software. This is not the same as anti-virus software.
Try that stuff out...hope it works out for ya. If not, get a Mac...they don't have these problems. :)

If you do a defrag, it will probably help. It's complicated trying to explain what exactly a defrag is, but it cleans up your system and makes things run a little bit faster. So if you don't have viruses or spyware and adware, a defrag is your best bet. Sometimes it takes a while, so start one when you don't want to do anything on the computer and it's best not to do anything else on the computer while the system is defragging.

I think it might be getting slower because of too much programs. It also depends on what type of computer you have. If not try getting rid of some programs.Run a spyware andvirus scan afew more times too.=)

Yes it runs slower with the more things you get on it. Run the defragment program and if that doesn't improve things then just install more RAM or get a bigger harddrive

Clean it up girl. Run a defrag and clean your drives. Then reset it and wait 10 secs and then turn back on. Then go to my computer and take some programs off that you dont use too.

Could be your system resources are getting too low...running to many programs at start up....low on disk space etc etc...if u have windows Xp start/run type Msconfig click start up tab...and uncheck certain programs so they dont start to run when your computer loads up ...so it doesnt drag as much.
I bought an external harddrive so i can save all my programs and whatever else i want on there.
