There is so much childish name calling and blaming by the political parties on this site, you'd think some people would rather this be a communist country with ONE party. Where are the moderate voices of reason from both sides?? Are there any people out there that are capable of working together inspite of political differences??? Let me know what you think.

you make a good point Holly and BELIEVE me I'm just as passionate in what I believe as anybody else but I think we can get our points across without resorting to the childish name calling......

I think they're here, it's just that a lot of the questions in this section are so aggressive and accusatory that people who might ordinarily be reasonable feel like they need to be on the defense. I see it in my own answers, bouncing back and forth between reasoning/explanation and simple sarcasm - and I hate it. It can be really hard to take that minute and look from another angle, especially when emotion comes into play.

How can we stay moderate when our President now tells us after sending our troops into harms way " We had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11."
When we have spent millions on homeland security but don't secure our borders and send national guards on the border with no weapons. Let drug dealers from Mexico go free and send or border patrol to jail. We have millions of illegals in the country and our government won't even enforce the laws we have.
Our Health care has doubled since he has been in office.
Our gas, utilities, and local taxes have all gone up sky high.
Every week we have at least a dozen sheriff sales in the paper of people losing their homes. This is an administration of the rich cooperation's who care only for money.
A long time pre Bush Republican, now Independent.

Moderation is crushed in Answers. There are is also a group of extremists who pose the vilest questions to bait with, are in collusion for points and try to out do each other in disgusting questions. Recently they even asked others to band together and use report those who disagree with them. They bandy their questions back & forth on e-mail and messenger.
When some of them are suspended, they take another name , often similar to the first, and continue stirring the pot with hatred and smears.

It is difficult to be moderate under these circumstances, I didn't expect Answers to be this way, but some of those people will have to be ignored so they are only left to agree with one another.

God damn, son, I like your question. I have voted for the Democrat Party all my life but voted for Bush because of 9/11.
It does seem like most of us have become less civil with each other. And I got to admit I've been pulled into this name calling game too. But damn, son, why have Democrats become so
self-righteous? I know, I know, some on the right think God is on their side but it doesn't bother me even though I'm an atheist.
But the Democrats like to question the intelligence of the opposition, whereas, mostly, Bush supporters question the judgment of those voting for the Democrats. Anyway, we'd better come together because our mutual enemy doesn't distinguish; we're all devils.

I'm more of a moderate than anything else. But I react when I see lies from the other side and I do enjoy riling people up.

They're out there but they get shut down by their own parties. Someone like John McCain should be president but will never get elected by the people in his own party.

I think a lot of people who take the middle ground tend to keep to themselves and avoid ridicule from the right and the left.
