Would you like to pull around and have us load them for you? Then you could just drive around and the gentleman would load the groceries in your car? Those were the days when it was fun to go shopping and your rear didn't drag by the time you got home!

Hey alien boy, the reason you never saw those days is maybe you sat in front of the T.V. while Mom went grocery shopping and as your info says , now you live on the internet. See you on planet Venus:)

Too young to know what those days were like, but it would be nice. There's too little consideration anymore, lucky if you can find anyone at the checkout counter to even be friendly and smile.Too many don't even bother to do that, totally rude or staring off into space. So it's nice to find people still willing to be friendly and polite, and make an attempt to cheer you up on a bad day, sometimes a smile and kind compliment can go a long way.

I actually love the self-checkout at the supermarket. There's never a line and I know the stuff is bagged right, because I did it myself! (I always end up with a cashier that tries to cram 25 items in one flimsy bag, or one who puts one item in its own bag!)
I dread going into a store that doesn't have self-checkout now.
As a sidenote, though, many supermarkets in bigger cities have delivery.... so shoppers can place their order online and have their stuff brought right to their door. It costs more, but you might want to check and see if any stores offer that service in your area. It would probably work out well for you.

Yes, those were the good old days. The cars were nicer too back then. We still have one store here in town where a little fella who's been working there for ages will bag your groceries and take them to your car. Homer Adkins is his name. I bet that store won't be the same when he packs it in.

I live in a town of less than 600 people. At the local grocery store we park right in front of the store and the cashiers ALWAYS take your groceries out do your car.
How's that for service?

Some days I'm really glad I live in a small town! I still get that kind of service at my local store. Sometimes, the carryout boy would even take our order down the street to our place of business! They usually jumped at the chance to get away from the store! lol

Sorry, I'm not old enough to remember that, but my grandparents do. They make mention of it once in a while at the store that they used to remember when the gentlement would help them to their car or load the stuff in their car. Oh well times are a changin

Yep. I miss the days when you would get a gallon of gasoline for $0.93 a gallon, and that would be Full Service. The gas attendant would give you Blue Chip Stamps. Remember those?
