Before my mom washes clothes, if they have stains, she does what she calls pre-spotting them. She takes the laundry detergent and rubs it on the stain really good before putting it in the washer. I know all those stain-remover sticks don't always work, but after my mom does this she has never had a stain she couldn't get out! You just wait about 2 minutes after pre-spotting it to put it in the washer. Trust me, it always comes right out, no matter how bad.

It depends on what the stain is made of.

Blood, coffee and chocolate can be removed immediately by rubbing an icecube or running under really cold water. Hot water sets the stain!!

If it is set, (which yours is), Stain Devil is the only thing that works. You can find it next to the bleach and stain removers, it's in a little yellow bottle. Make sure you get the one that is appropriate for the type of stain you have.

There are stain removers made especially for different kinds of stains. (I think "StainDevil is one of the better ones.) You need something formulated for protein-based stains. And it won't work as well if the clothing has been washed in hot water or run through the dryer already, because that sete the stain. (-Warm- water, not hot or cold, works best for this kind of stain. Think 'body temperature.')

All you have to do is, apply liquid soap to that area and let it sit for a day, when you wash with your other clothes, it will come out.
