How do you know when you are having your first period?

When I first got it a felt a little bit of cramping but I thought they were just stomach pains, and then later I found blood..I always keep a pad or tamon in my purse, backpack, and locker just in case, along with some ibuprofen. You may not know you have it until you use the bathroom, so you always have to be prepared. But some other symptons are if you're tired or crabby a lot, this is known as PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome).

well, you'll either get a tiny little spot of blood on your underwear, or if you bleed A LOT, then the blood will probably leak through your underwear before you notice.
So if you see clear, white-ish stuff appearing on your underwear, tthat probably means your period is coming up, so carry a few pads just in case.
and just so u kno, a period isn't what it's cracked up to b.

When I got my 1st period, I was standing and I felt it just gush out all of a sudden.

Well if you don't notice the bleeding. There will be brown stuff in your underwear (Dried blood)

i had really bad stomach pains. and i felt carsick had headaches. and then the next thing i knew i was bleeding

trust me you will know. just go to the bathroom and see if you did. hopefully you dont get the cramps there awefull.
