IT'S HARD WHEN YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN AND THEY'RE BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS! IF YOU DON'T THINK HE NEED A PRO THEN A FEW OF MY BEST IDEAS IS TO TAKE HIM OUT TO THE PARK, GO FOR WALKS, SPLASHING IN A SMALL BACKYARD POOL OR LET HIM RUN THROUGH THE SPRINKLER IF IT'S NICE OUT. IS THERE A PLACE WHERE HE CAN RIDE A BICYCLE IN YOUR AREA? IN WINTER A STICK HORSE OR HOBBY HORSE, EVEN A SMALL BIKE IF YOU HAVE THE ROOM, LARGER SIZE TOY TRUCKS HE CAN PUSH OR RIDE AROUND, INDOOR JUNGLE GYM, THINGS HE CAN CLIMB ON, ANYTHING WITH AS MUCH ACTIVITY AS POSSIBLE TO USE UP THAT ENERGY. BE WATCHFUL OF WHAT HE EATS, SUGAR IS YOUR ENEMY! LIMIT THE TIME HE SPENDS IN FRONT OF THE TV, THAT IS SITTING TIME HE COULD USE FOR BURNING UP ENERGY. HOPE THIS HELPS A LITTLE. GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY THE CRAZINESS, IT WON'T BE LONG AND YOU'LL BE A GRANDMA!!!

If it's serious I would recommend getting psychiatric help and maybe see a doctor about getting him on some medicine(that would be my last choice) Before doing that I would keep him busy with reading books, playing sports, doing chores around the house, and don't let him take several naps during the day because he won't be able to sleep at nite. It really depends on his age but being that you said "little son" im thinking maybe 5 or older so just find something he enjoys doing and hopefully that'll keep him occupied..

You cant really do much to calm him down but you can wear him out by lettin him play outside most of the day. I have the same problem and thats the only thing that works for my son

You didn't mention his age but lets just go with the one activity that uses the most muscles and gives the best workout. I have a 9 year old and he has been know to faint (practically) after swimming. If it's too cold to swim, find some indoor pool to go to.

Good answers above.....let him partake in physical activities. This will tire him out. More fruits/vegetables vs sweets/sugary snacks and drinks.

Just keep him active as long as his activities are not destructive or harmful to himself and others. DO NOT MEDICATE HIM!!!
Be thankful that you have a child who is energetic...wait until he gets hooked on TV, PS2, XBox...ooh, I need to go finish Resident Evil 4...lol!

Give him nothing with sugar in it. No pop etc. read labels carefully. Let him have time where he can let his energy out but also insist that he have quiet time. Read to him, play quietly with him.

PUT HIM ON A SCHEDULE AND SPEND TIME WITH HIM . ALL THE TIME YOU CAN AND DONT PUT HIM ON THOSE DRUGS THAT ARE FLYING AROUND SO PARENTS DONT HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR CHILDREN.
THE PILLS JUST ZONK THEM OUT AND THEY THINK THINGS ARE SOLVED.
