Sorry to tell you this but I don't think so. The conference is just too tough and I don't think they've improved enough to get in. Better luck next time.

To make the playoffs they will need to finish ahead of two of these teams: Detroit, Calgary, Dallas, Nashville, Edmonton, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Jose. This past year was the toughest level of competition I've seen in any one conference in a very long time. Teams had to make big BIG trades at the deadline just to hope they'd make the playoffs.
To finish ahead of two of those teams, they must have two good scoring lines, at least 4 top-quality defencemen, and a # 1 goalie who can steal some games.
No disrespect man, but the competition is too tough for the Jackets to make it based on what they've got.

i'm sorry to assert, yet i do no longer see the Flyers making it to the playoffs. including a great number of recent names from a great number of different communities - east and west conferences - demands a extensive shakeup in team chemistry. The Flyers have actually NO identity. it is relating to the crest on the front, no longer the names on the lower back. Briere is a great participant yet how will he take care of enjoying in a Flyers equipment? Hartnell is particularly overvalued ... Timonen would be a great defenseman yet how will he artwork with Hatcher or Smith? Martin Biron is unproven at perfect. specific, he's a superb goaltender, yet can he take care of the burden of 60+ video games? same is going for Niitty...in simple terms no longer adequate adventure in between the pipes. With each and all the best communities interior the east, you will desire to assume the Flyers to be struggling with for that seventh and 8th seed interior the east. yet in recent times of the NHL .... who the heck is familiar with!!! i do no longer see them making the playoffs.

Not quite. But they will come close. They will be just edged out by another team for that eighth playoff spot by a couple of points. This will be their best season so far in their short franchise history.
Myself,I hope they do make the playoffs. I like seeing them and other underdog teams like Atlanta,Nashville,Minnesota, and Florida do well.

This year they at least have a chance.
You are right about the young stars but like every other team the difference is in the rest of the team.
