Most people do not even realize what a song really means -- meaning she liked them and thought you might like them. That's all!

But to help you understand -- (Example) It's like when a wife gets pregnant or when you buy a new car. The first thing you notice is all the pregnant women, they have been their all along - you just never noticed them and as for the car - you start to notice all these other people driving the same car and same color as yours, again, they have always been their -- you just didn't notice.

As for you - you probably hummed to the songs on the CD before -- you just didn't notice them...so, now you are trying to make something of it. Something about nothing, all because you really listened.

Did you know that -- Ben Fold Five's song "Brick" is about abortion?? Most people love that song and have no ideal what it is about

Did you know that -- Greenday's song "Time of Your Life" is about his girl cheating on him.

What you should realize is that your girl thought enough of you to do something for you -- its her way of showing commitment and emotional affection. Ofcourse, I could be wrong and your girl has a saddistic side her, but I think it is the first one rather than the saddistic one.

I think it's a mix of songs she thinks you'll like and songs with a "message". Most women I know would make a CD like that. And of course she wants you to remember you are her boyfriend when you're far away so she'll add some songs which have some kind of meaning for the both of you.

It's hard to say what your girlfriend is doing. I don't know her. Sometimes people do use songs to place a message in ones brain. It must work. The entertainment Business does it all the Time. But without knowing how your Girlfriend thinks or is it's hard to say. Some women do use music to make a point to their Boyfriends. Of course everyone using music to communicate, This is human nature. We send a love song to a loved one that is sick, we sing Star Spangled Banner as a National Anthem, We sing Lullabies to our Children. So yes. Some people, most people use music to make a good point or say I miss you or say what they want to say. Music is a great way to express ones self without saying a word.

Oo is this dissent for me to answer this and let a mortal man in on the workings of the female mind?

Nah.

OK I cant answer for your partner, but I have been known in the past to drop hints in this way. I had not realised it until I listened to it before handing it over.
My brain had rebelled and spilt my innermost thoughts in a more articulate way than my mouth could.
Of course she may have just put a random selection of tracks on a CD for your enjoyment with no more thought than she would in choosing socks...

ask her what music she is listenign to now, when you speak to her. Do it in passing, dotn' ask any questions yet. See if it's the same stuff. If the songs have nothing to do with your being together but something new that she is not listening to, more possibility that it could be something between the lines.
