that they aren't fat?

When I was a teen I was overweight (5'0 150lbs) and I constantly had skinny girls crying to me about how fat they were and how they needed to lose weight. I always thought they were being mean and just wanted to get praise for their looks. As time went on I got over it but with all these teens asking if they are too fat when they are skin and bone I am wondering again.

Is their self-confidence so bad that they can't see what's in the mirror or do they just want attention?

Very low self esteem, because of the media and society brain washing girls to think they is fat if she is not a size 6 or less! Some of them do have distorted body images also, which means they just don't see themselves as they truly are. Teenagers are more insecure than ever, it's scary to think what the future holds when we are a nation obsessed with being ridiculously skinny, it seems that to some people, it's all that matters to them. HTH.

I am 5'2 inches and probably really only need to loose maybe 3 lbs and get on a real exercise program. I am getting older, I hate my hair. I am getting wrinkles. I am not unhappy with my aging. I just talk a lot too. LOL
I hope you know what I mean. There is this one lady I talk to alot who I swear, she "has nothing going on in the looks dept" I feel bad sometimes" that I gripe in front of her. I am just not thinking and trying to make conversation. She is not a big converstationlist.
I do think it is time women learned not to gauge themselves by their butt size. Health is so much more important.
Look at what television is throwing out at todays youth.
No wonder eating disorders have taken over.I have wondered the same as you. I wonder who I have hurt complaining of a small amount of weight.
I think it's a shame women have become so geared to this.

That is what living in our society today is doing to people.
Vanity and false pride are causing people to become more self destructive.
There are still people out here who have the attitude of, what you see is what you get.
It is good to want to be a healthy weight, but you don't have to be radical about it.
I am not a young person, but I look fifteen years younger than I am.
My wife tells me that if I dye my hair people would think I am even younger.
Guess what! I earned my gray hair, and I am not going to mess with it. I do not believe in deceiving people anyway.
WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET!

i think it's all about insecurity, whether they want attention, are passively putting down others, or really are worried they are fat or too skinny. its totally a social disease, the way women are pushed to wrap their bodies and psyches around being some sort of demographic ideal according to what the 3% of the population of celebrities and models look like. sad.

based on what i see in YA and in society in general, i'd say that the american male wants a woman who doesn't NEED anything...we are supposed to have perfect bods, be great looking, virginal-but hot in bed, have a great career where we make our own money, and not have any emotional requirements--we're just supposed to want to be in relationships for sex and light companionship--so it only makes sense to me that we should look like we dont even need food ;)

basically almost everyone is concerned with how they look....some fat girls wanna be skinny, some skinner girls wanna be skinner.....unfortunately that's what our society has imbedded in our brains, the skinner you are the prettier. That’s what u see on the cover of these mags, all these models, singers, artists and actresses look flawless (though they are not) and that’s what our young women see everyday, and that’s what most try to be....flawless although it truly doesn't exist. So to answer your question, no I don't think they are on here to fish for compliments, and you can't help those who don't wanna help themselves

They were waiting for you to comment on your weight problem through the back door. It was a cruel and insensitive way for them to call you fatty and gloat about themselves.
