I've got it. Some people I know say it does not hurt (but they were pierced with a gun). The larger the piercing, the more it will hurt. I think mine is a 14 gauge. Mine was done with a hook and he pierced it slowly so I was in agony. I don't regret it at all. I've had it about 10 years and I wear my hair short so it's visible. I am looking for a diamond stud with a curved post to replace the hoop I have. I'd recommend it. I would try to find a curved post stud to wear if you work in a corporate setting.

Not really. Most places will do it with a needle instead of a gun because the tragus is actually part of the face, not the ear. It won't hurt if they do it quickly. Unfortunately, the guy who did mine did it VERY slowly, and it wound up becoming infected and I had to take it out. But, they're very cute and worth it.

I suggest getting a hoop first because it's going to swell.... a lot. After a month or two you can replace it with a stud.

At the time of getting my tragus pierced, 10 years ago, I was setup to have both sides done. The piercer told me that I probably would not go through with the next one. indeed I did not go through with the next one. It hurt for a long time, but I don't regret it. Mine was done with a needle and is a 12g. I've seen smaller ones, but the place I went to back then did not give me a choice. I've just recently had my conch done, that didn't hurt as bad as the tragus, but it surely is harder to heal.
