Could anyone help me find some of the cordinates for those equations. I know that the y intersept for 3x+2y=6 is 6 but that's it.
Help would be really appriciated.

Thank you. You'll understand better yourself.

For the y-intercept - set x=0 => 2y=6 and y is not 6.

One of the easiest ways to graph such realtively easy equations is to assume simple values for x; like -1, 0, and 1, and then find y for it. Plot the points, and you will get the grahp.

The x and y intercepts are important and easy to plot when you find them.

You are wrong! the y intercept for 3x+2y=6 is not 6.
in the above equation, and to find the y intercept, just let x=0 and solve for y.
2y=6
y=3; your y intercept is (0,3)

Similarly, the x intercept is when y=0
3x=6
x=2
and your x intercept is (2,0)

You need to find out what values of x need to be evaluated to draw the graph. Probably your teacher wants you to graph y=^2 the other equation y=(6-3x)/2 for integer values around the origin. Evaluate that first, and then decide how best to graph it.

no it is not 6...... first rearrange the first equation so it says y=....
2y= -3x+6.... then devide by two all across...leaving y= -3/2x +3
now start at (0,3) y int. and rise -3 and run 2........next equation.
y=x^2 it is a u shape that starts at 0. if x is 2 then y is 4 if x is -2 then y is 4. hope this helps.

3x + 2y = 6
y = x^2

3x + 2y = 6
2y = -3x + 6
y = (-3/2)x + 3

Y-intercept is 3 not 6

x^2 = (-3/2)x + 3
2x^2 = -3x + 6
2x^2 + 3x - 6 = 0

x = (-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)

x = (-3 ± sqrt(3^2 - 4(2)(-6)))/(2(2))
x = (-3 ± sqrt(9 + 48))/4
x = (-3 ± sqrt(57))/4
x = (1/4)(-3 ± sqrt(57))

y = (-3/2)x + 3
y = (-3/2)(1/4)(-3 ± sqrt(57)) + 3
y = (-3/8)(-3 ± sqrt(57) + 3
y = (9/8) + 3 ± (-3/8)sqrt(57)
y = (9/8) + (24/8) ± (-3/8)sqrt(57)
y = (33/8) ± (-3/8)sqrt(57)
y = (-3/8)(-11 ± sqrt(57))

ANS :

x = (-1/4)(3 + sqrt(57))
y = (3/8)(11 + sqrt(57))

or

x = (-1/4)(3 - sqrt(57))
y = (3/8)(11 - sqrt(57))

2y=6-3x
y=3-3/2x,
there you go, should make graphing easier.
