I don’t understand how some of us can hate a group of people, simply because of how they are labeled, and yes, I am referring to gays. Regardless of your religion and beliefs of wrong and right and all that good stuff, how can you just automatically hate someone because of who they like? I mean, if you don’t want them hitting on you, you could just tell them that you aren’t interested! SO my question is, honestly, why can’t we all just get along? Why why why?

And no, to those of you that care, I’m not gay, I’m just a straight girl that wants everyone to be happy!

People hate what they don't understand. And instead of having discussions and asking questions like rational human beings, we automatically turn on our hate radar and chastise those who don't think like us.

People tend to HATE what they don't understand ! I believe that we shouldn't hate anyone or anything . We can disapprove of what someone does or says but not the person . The only thing we prove when we hate someone is not how bad they are , but that we are just someone who needs to hurt others , to build themselves up , and we all know that doesn't work . By the way I am also a straight women who has had some great friends who are gay .

Because it's easier for many people to hate an entire group or label than to deal with each person or member individually. So, for those who are cognitively lazy, they just hate the entire group.

This is especially true for people who think their personal or religious beliefs are the only valid path. Because they operate in a One True Way ™ model, they cannot conceive of anything outside that model being valid.

i am with you.i always fight about this kind of stuff with my parents.they always say why do you stand up for people like that, are you gay too.my parents always bring religion to the picture. my take on it is i don't want to be in a religion that discriminates against anybody.i live my life with an open mind and treat everyone with humility. i have seen enough to believe that people should be concerned about there lives no what other do.people shouldn't divide each other by race , by sex, by religion ......... if they stopped putting up bars and got to know these people they would realize that we are not that different.

Education and the way they were brought up. Those less educated tend to not learn the whole facts and judge people quicker. Sometimes people are just brought up by their parents to hate others not like them...

Just like racism

It's called tribalism. Every tribe needs an enemy, a "them" to encourage cohesion and loyalty among "us."

Whether they have tents and camels, or SUVs and nuclear weapons, tribes behave the same everywhere.

My sentiments exactly. People need to mind their own business. And quit being so damn judgmental of others.
